Gordon W. McNiven, B.A., C.A.

Gord graduated from McMaster University in 1976 and obtained his designation as a chartered accountant in 1978. After spending 4 years with a national firm of chartered accountants and being a manager in the Hamilton office, Gord wished to pursue and entrepreneurial career in a local firm and joined Horne LLP in 1980, becoming a partner in 1982.

It is this desire to be an entrepreneur himself, which give Gord his expertise in dealing with small, medium and multi-million dollar owner-managed businesses.

Gord’s areas of expertise include business plans, financing and other services related to start-up enterprises. In addition, Gord still enjoys the auditing and management services which he provides to many of his larger clients.

Gord is a founding member of the Burlington Estate and Financial Planning Council. The Council was formed with other independent business people in Burlington. Through the Council Gord has been able to provide his financial, tax and estate planning expertise to a wide audience and to provide valuable information to those in the community who may not otherwise receive such services. Gord has also regularly been a lecturer at financial planning seminars, and with the Council appears regularly on the Community Cable Show, “Taking Care of Your Future”.
