Gerald W. Hockin, C. A.

Gerry is a native of Burlington and commenced his accounting career with a national firm in British Columbia in 1967. He received his Ontario designation as a chartered accountant in 1978, after having joined Horne LLP in 1974. Gerry has been personally involved with various business interests over the years and has directed the firm as managing partner since 1982.

Gerry’s approach to business reflects the philosophy of the firm, in terms of both quality of service and innovative approaches to complex business decisions.

His main area of expertise is business advisory services, with particular expertise in corporate acquisitions, sales and reorganization. Over the years, Gerry has been involved in several community organizations and through Horne LLP has provided resources on a voluntary basis to host of charitable and needy organizations such as youth centres, community services and free income tax clinics for disadvantaged seniors. He is also a participant in high school co-op programs to assist students with an accounting career choice. Gerry and his family reside in Burlington and are keen supporters of community festivals and fund-raisers through their involvement in the antique and classic automobile hobby.
